RAIN TODAY; COOL DAYS, COLD NIGHTS AHEAD… Scattered to numerous showers will continue to happen this morning into the early afternoon hours across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Friday. Rain is expected to clear out tonight, paving the way for a much drier, cold weekend. Overnight lows by Saturday morning at 6AM will be in the low-30s. Highs on Saturday will be in the low-50s. Looking ahead, we have a slew of mostly sunny days ahead for this weekend into early next week. A few more Friday morning forecast notes are below.

MAINLY SUNNY & COOL OVER NEXT SEVERAL DAYS… Rain clears out tonight and temperatures will continue to be quite cold into the overnight hours. Some spots across inland stretches of south Alabama could have overnight lows in the upper-20s by daybreak on Saturday. Temperatures will rebound into the 50s tomorrow afternoon. Mostly sunny skies are set to prevail into early next week.

FLASH FLOODING LAST NIGHT IN MONROE COUNTY… Extensive flash flooding happened as rain and thunderstorms trained over the eastern half of Monroe County last night. Some unofficial reports suggest upwards of 9-10″ of rain happened near Monroeville. This caused significant flooding inundation in many structures in Monroeville and in communities farther south.

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO WATCHED OUR COVERAGE… I appreciate everyone who watched our tornado warning coverage yesterday evening. One tornado warning was issued yesterday, for parts of northern and central Monroe County. Several trees were reported down in parts of Clarke County due to straight line winds, but I did not receive any tornado damage reports from Monroe County thankfully.
