LOUD STORMS APPROACHING BREWTON… Thunderstorms happening near Kirkland, AL are producing quite a bit of lightning. The lightning strike count continues to increase. 87 strikes of lightning in the last 10 minutes have happened with this small storm. Heavy rain will be possible shortly near Brewton, East Brewton, Riverview, Appleton, Juniper Creek, and Kirkland. There is NO tornado threat with this particular storm. This isolated storm is moving west at about 15 mph. Cloud-to-ground lightning, heavy rain, and brief gusty winds are the main concern.
Storms entering Covington County near Opp may move toward the greater Brewton area over the next hour or so.
