P.M. STORMS TODAY AND INTO THE WEEKEND; HOT TEMPS TO CONTINUE… Scattered thunderstorms are likely to develop this afternoon into this evening across south Alabama and northwest Florida. High temperatures will be in the mid- to upper-90s today and over the next several days. This weekend looks to be exactly as one would expect for late July with P.M. storms likely each day with highs in the mid-90s. There is about a 3 in 10 chance of your community having rain and storms each day.

TROPICAL UPDATE… The Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea are quiet with no new tropical storms expected to develop over the next several days. A tropical wave currently in the eastern Atlantic Ocean has a 40-50% chance of becoming a tropical storm northwest of the Leeward Islands in 3-4 days. For now, not a big concern for any land areas. I will have further updates throughout the weekend, as needed, in the RedZone Weather app.

APP… If you haven’t already, be sure to download the free RedZone Weather app to keep up with all the latest information on the world of weather in south Alabama and northwest Florida. redzoneweather.com/app is the link for the free download. Once you have the app downloaded to your iOS or Android device, be sure to visit the Alerts tab (lower right corner) and tap the large, yellow Alert Settings button to customize the alerts you would like to receive straight from me.
