TROPICAL STORM MAY FORM IN ABOUT ONE WEEK IN THE GULF OF MEXICO… The National Hurricane Center indicates there is a low-end chance that a tropical storm forms in the western or central Gulf of Mexico in about 5-7 days, perhaps this weekend or early next week. Global models suggest a broad area of low pressure may develop in the area, potentially becoming a named tropical storm in about a week. It is a bit too early to know much in the way of specifics, but early model indications point to a westward movement toward the Texas or Louisiana coast. Again, way too early to know specifics. We will know more in the days ahead.
