Tropics remain quite active with 5 separate systems being tracked across the Atlantic Basin. TD6, Tropical Storm Emily, & 3 other disturbances.
The Gulf disturbance is headed toward South Texas regardless of if formal development happens. Increased rip currents at AL & FL coast. pic.twitter.com/nK6FKD8gKj

Tropical Storm Emily has formed in the open waters of the central Atlantic Ocean. Emily is expected to dissipate in a few days and won’t be an issue for land areas.
Note that Emily is a separate system from TD6 (farther west) and the Gulf disturbance. pic.twitter.com/0tQr6XfSzh

QUITE HOT TODAY… A few showers may happen later this afternoon across parts of coastal Alabama and northwest Florida. Most locales across the region will remain dry. High temperatures will peak in the upper-90s.
As the core of the massive ridge shifts into the Southeast, it'll bring the potential for all-time record highs there as well.
Jackson, MS's all-time record high (1889-present) is 107F from a 4-way tie (1925, 1930, 2000). The latest NWS forecast for Jackson is 107 degrees. pic.twitter.com/EChQR4ZE7V
