Mostly sunny skies are in place across most of south Alabama and northwest Florida at midday on this Tuesday. Temperatures are in the 90s. Slightly cooler, slightly drier air arrives tonight into tomorrow (at least temporarily!). pic.twitter.com/LpuaYJJbH7

SLIGHTLY COOLER TEMPS TOMORROW… Tomorrow will feature highs in the LOW-90s as opposed to the upper-90s as slightly cooler, slightly drier air moves into our local area from the north.
P.M. storms are likely this weekend with warmer temperatures.
QUITE HOT AGAIN TODAY; P.M. STORMS; SLIGHTLY COOLER AIR ARRIVES TONIGHT… Temperatures will yet again soar into the upper-90s today but we are finally going to get a brief break from the extreme heat tomorrow. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely to develop, particularly in areas along, south, and east of I-65 this evening. Widespread severe storms are not expected but some of the storms may be loud at times.
SLIGHTLY COOLER, DRIER AIR ARRIVES TONIGHT… Wednesday is slated to be the “coolest” day we have had in quite some time with high temperatures in the low-90s. It won’t be cool or cold by any stretch of the imagination, but it will be cooler than the brutally hot conditions we have had over the last few weeks. Step outside in the morning, and particularly on Thursday morning, to really enjoy the cooler air – that is when temperatures will be in the upper-60s inland with temperatures near 70 closer to the coast.
MORE HEAT, HUMIDITY, AND STORMS THIS WEEKEND… Unfortunately, the cool snap will not last long as temperatures will again surge into the upper-90s this weekend. P.M. pop-up storms are expected on both Saturday and Sunday.
TROPICS: GULF & CARIBBEAN REMAIN QUIET… The Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea are currently quiet with no new tropical storms expected to develop over the next 5-7 days.
TROPICS: TWO TROPICAL DISTURBANCES MAY DEVELOP IN EASTERN ATLANTIC… The National Hurricane Center indicates one OR two tropical disturbances could potentially develop into named tropical storms in about a week across the far eastern part of the Atlantic Ocean. These systems would originate from tropical waves that move off the western coast of Africa. Right now, NHC gives a 20% chance and a 30% chance of two separate storms developing this weekend or early next week. Certainly nothing to worry about for now, but this is something to be aware of, particularly as we are approaching the climatological peak of the hurricane season in about one month.

P.M. STORMS TODAY; SLIGHTLY COOLER WEDNESDAY… Thunderstorms will bubble up this evening ahead of slightly cooler, slightly drier air arriving tonight. Extreme heat is expected this afternoon BUT we get a brief break from the excessive heat starting tomorrow.

A tropical depression in the Caribbean Sea was upgraded to a tropical storm and was given the name Camille. Within a few days, the storm would strike the US as one of the most powerful hurricanes the nation has ever experienced.#wxhistory pic.twitter.com/f7ibuKvBcW
