SCATTERED P.M. STORMS; EXTREME HEAT & HUMIDITY THIS WEEKEND… Heat index values will climb into the 115-120Ā° (not a typo!) tomorrow as air temperatures reach 100Ā° and humidity levels again become quite excessive. High temperatures on this Friday will be in the upper-90s with heat index values in the 109-115Ā° range. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely later today. Just like the last several days, not every community will have rain before the end of the day but where rain and storms do fire up, heavy rain will be possible.

NO HEAT RELIEF IN SIGHT… Temperatures will, unfortunately, continue to be quite hot over the next 7-10 days. High temperatures are slated to be in the mid- to upper-90s with some communities flirting with the 100 degree mark. Humidity levels look to be continually oppressive for the foreseeable future.

ATLANTIC BASIN CONTINUES TO BE QUIET; DORA IN PACIFIC… The Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, and Atlantic Ocean continue to be quiet with no new tropical storms expected to form in the next 5-7 days.
