NICE, SEASONAL WEATHER TODAY; NEXT RAIN CHANCE ON SATURDAY EVENING INTO SUNDAY… Mostly sunny skies continue to be in the forecast on this Wednesday across south Alabama and northwest Florida. High temperatures will be in the upper-50s farther inland and in the low-60s closer to the coast. No rain is expected anywhere close by today but we are looking ahead to Saturday evening into Sunday when our next chance of rain and thunderstorms will happen. Thursday and Friday are also slated to be dry, very similar to today.
SLIGHTLY WARMER TEMPS FRIDAY AND SATURDAY… Temperatures will make a run at the 70 degree mark in the afternoon hours on both Friday and Saturday as a warm, southerly flow off the Gulf of Mexico takes hold of our weather pattern. This southerly wind is out ahead of an area of low pressure that will move by our region on Saturday evening into Sunday, bringing with it a chance of rain and thunderstorms.
RAIN & STORMS SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY… Showers and perhaps a few thunderstorms will become possible late Saturday into Sunday as our next weathermaker approaches from the west. For now, the overall severe weather risk with this developing system remains LOW as much of the higher instability values look to remain offshore. This is something that will need to be monitored over the next few days, however, as this batch of rain and storms approaches. I will have more updates, as needed, in the RedZone Weather app.
