RAIN LIKELY AT TIMES THIS WEEKEND… Rain and thunderstorms will be possible at times throughout the weekend. High temperatures will be in the 70s this weekend ahead of cooler, drier conditions by the middle of the upcoming week.
MOSTLY CLOUDY TODAY; FEW SHOWERS POSSIBLE; RAIN LIKELY AT TIMES THRU MONDAY… Isolated sprinkles and showers will be possible throughout the day on this Friday. Widespread rain and thunderstorms are not expected today but that will change as we get into the weekend. Multiple rounds of rain and thunderstorms will become likely on both Saturday and Sunday. While neither day will feature “all day washout” conditions, rain will be possible at times each day. Sunday will likely be the wettest day out of the next 7 days. High temperatures will rise into the low- to mid-70s this afternoon as a warm, southerly flow takes hold of our local weather pattern.
RAIN & STORMS LIKELY AT TIMES SATURDAY AND SUNDAY… Bouts of rain will become possible tonight into Saturday and Sunday. Showers and thunderstorms will likely remain scattered in nature throughout the weekend. For now, severe weather parameters continue to be low through the weekend. High temperatures will be in the 70s this weekend with morning lows in the 50s and 60s.
SEVERE WEATHER RISK TO OUR WEST ON SUNDAY… The Storm Prediction Center has included parts of east Texas and much of Louisiana in their Level 2 (out of 5) severe weather risk zone valid for Sunday. Damaging wind gusts and perhaps a few tornadoes will become possible across those areas during the daytime hours of Sunday, perhaps extending into Sunday evening. The same frontal system responsible for the severe weather risk to our west on Sunday will shift to the east on Monday.
A FEW STRONG STORMS POSSIBLE MONDAY… Strong storms may become possible on Monday across our local area and perhaps in areas just to our north as well. The severe weather risk, if one materializes, will probably be a lower-end risk. Rain and storms will gradually shift across our region on Monday and exit to our east by Monday evening. I will have updates on this throughout the weekend in the RedZone Weather app.
DRIER PATTERN KICKS OFF ON FAT TUESDAY; COLD TEMPS FOR MARDI GRAS… Just in time for the height of Mardi Gras on Fat Tuesday, drier conditions are expected. Temperatures will peak in the upper-50s on Tuesday with a pronounced breeze out of the northwest. Temperatures will be in the 40s and low-50s on Tuesday evening, meaning you will need the jackets if you’re headed out to a local Mardi Gras parade. Drier conditions will prevail on Wednesday and Thursday of the upcoming week.

Rain is likely at times on Saturday and Sunday.
