SCATTERED STORMS TODAY AND TUESDAY; NOT EVERY LOCALE TO HAVE RAIN TODAY… Scattered showers and thunderstorms will approach west Alabama from southeast Mississippi around midday or in the early afternoon hours. There is some uncertainty as to just how far east this batch of showers and storms will be able to move as drier, more stable air is in place across the eastern side of our region. Widespread severe thunderstorms are not expected today, but there is a low-end risk of a few stronger storms mainly in place for areas to our west. Tomorrow, another round of scattered thunderstorms may happen. Drier conditions are likely Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

LOW-END SEVERE WEATHER RISK, MAINLY TO OUR WEST… The Storm Prediction Center has included much of Mississippi and Louisiana in a low-end, Level 1 (out of 5) severe weather risk zone valid for today into this evening. This low-end risk zone also includes parts of west Alabama, specifically parts of Clarke, Washington, and Mobile counties. This risk zone is driven by a chance of gusty winds and is NOT a formal tornado risk for south Alabama or northwest Florida.
