MORE POP-UP STORMS NEXT WEEK… We will transition to more of a wet, stormy pattern each day as we get into the weekend and early next week. These will be the classic, pop-up thunderstorms of summer capable of producing localized downpours and quite a bit of lightning.

Since 2004, we haven't observed a tropical or subtropical storm in the Gulf with as wide of a tropical storm wind field as Alberto's.
