STORMS FORMING FARTHER INLAND… In addition to the ongoing rain happening near the Alabama and northwest Florida beaches, we are now seeing the start of scattered thunderstorms forming across inland areas of south Alabama near and north of the U.S. Highway 84 corridor.
Be ready for scattered downpours over the next several hours.
Good, soaking rain continues near Fairhope, Foley, Orange Beach, Pensacola, Gulf Breeze, Milton, Navarre, FWB, and Destin.
Dry so far across Clarke, Washington, and Monroe counties farther inland but I expect showers & storms there later.

RAIN CONTINUES NEAR COAST… Rain is happening near the Alabama and northwest Florida beaches as of 10:51AM. Showers are also happening father inland near Andalusia, Opp, Wing, and Brewton.
This mass of rain near the beaches will gradually move inland over the next few hours.
Expect rain and thunderstorms at times throughout the afternoon and evening hours.
Rain continues near Atmore, Brewton, Crestview, Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Elberta, and Dauphin Island.

SCATTERED STORMS EACH DAY OVER NEXT 7 DAYS… Each day in the next 7 days will likely feature scattered to numerous pop-up thunderstorms. The good news is I am not expecting significant severe weather issues anytime soon.
Loud and proud storms at times, yes. Tornadoes, no.
SCATTERED STORMS LIKELY AT TIMES TODAY, THIS WEEKEND, & INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK… Thunderstorms will be quite numerous at times today and throughout the weekend across the region. While I am not expecting widespread severe weather this weekend, I am expecting scattered to numerous storms each day with lots of lightning, loud thunder, heavy rain, and gusty winds. Most of the rain and thunderstorms will happen in the afternoon and evening hours, but because of the soupy, warm air mass in place, isolated storms will be possible in the morning and overnight hours as well.
TROPICS QUIET… The Atlantic Basin, including the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea, are quiet with no tropical storms expected to develop over the next 5-7 days. The climatological peak of hurricane season will happen on September 11. Hurricane season ends on November 30.

NUMEROUS STORMS AROUND THIS WEEKEND… Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are likely not only today but also on Saturday and Sunday. Be ready for intermittent rain and thunderstorms throughout the weekend.
