Temperatures will be running 8-10 degrees above our climatological norms for this time of year. Most locales will reach the low- to mid-80s this afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms will be possible at times today into tonight in parts of southwestern Mississippi and Louisiana. There is a severe weather risk across parts of the Great Plains today. Locally, (unfortunately) we will be dry today. More dry weather is expected for Halloween tomorrow and into the weekend.

TRICK-OR-TREAT FORECAST PREVIEW… Halloween is expected to be dry across the region. Temperatures at 5PM will be around 82 degrees, falling to around 72° by 7PM. By 9PM, temperatures will be in the 60s. This will be nearly perfect weather for folks trick-or-treating across the region.

TROPICAL DISTURBANCE MAY DEVELOP IN CARIBBEAN SEA… The National Hurricane Center continues to indicate there is a 40% chance of a tropical storm developing in the southern or central Caribbean Sea. From NHC: “A broad area of low pressure is likely to develop over the southwestern Caribbean Sea in a couple of days. Gradual development is possible thereafter, and a tropical depression could form over the weekend while the system begins to drift northward or northeastward toward the central Caribbean Sea.”
