RAIN & STORMS MOVING EAST… The overall risk of severe weather continues to slowly diminish across the region. The risk won’t fall to zero until showers and storms have completely cleared our area to the east, but frankly, the risk is VERY, very low over the next few hours.

Don’t be surprised to hear thunder at times along with the sound of heavier downpours at times.

STRONG STORMS IN WEST ALABAMA… Loud and proud thunderstorms are happening in parts of Clarke, Washington, Choctaw, and Marengo counties in west Alabama early on this Thursday morning. Heavy rain will move into Thomasville, Grove Hill, Jackson, Leroy, and Chatom over the next hour or so. These storms are producing occasional loud claps of thunder along with cloud-to-ground lightning.

HEAVY POCKETS OF RAIN NEAR ELBERTA & CHUMUCKLA… Showers with a few thunderstorms are also happening in parts of Escambia (AL), Baldwin, Escambia (FL), and Santa Rosa counties. These storms are not as strong, but occasional thunder is happening as these storms move northeast.

SEVERE WEATHER RISK REMAINS LOW… The overall risk of any severe storms happening over the next 6-8 hours remains quite low. The risk is not zero, but it is very low. Have a way to hear warnings just in case a warning is needed for your location.
