A FEW SMALL SHOWERS POSSIBLE TODAY INTO TONIGHT; SIGNS OF RAIN NEXT WEEK… Most communities across south Alabama and northwest Florida will remain dry on this Halloween Thursday, but a few, small, highly isolated showers will be possible today into tonight. The greatest chance of any rain happening today locally will occur in Baldwin, Mobile, Clarke, and Washington counties in southwest Alabama. High temperatures will once again be in the mid-80s. Most of us will be dry tonight for the trick-or-treating activities across the region.

TRICK-OR-TREAT FORECAST… Other than a few small showers across west Alabama, much of the region will be dry this evening for trick-or-treating. Temperatures at 5PM will be around 82 degrees, falling to around 72° by 7PM. By 9PM, temperatures will be in the 60s. Enjoy the nice temperatures this evening!

CARIBBEAN TROPICAL DISTURBANCE FUTURE PATH MORE UNCERTAIN… An area of disturbed weather developing in the southwestern corner of the Caribbean Sea, east of Nicaragua, is expected to slowly drift northward over the next day or so. This system now has a 50% chance of becoming a named tropical storm this weekend or early next week. We note that model guidance for the future track of the system has become more uncertain over the last 24-48 hours. More model guidance shows potential movement to the northwest, as opposed to earlier guidance that showed a general northeasterly motion toward Hispaniola or Puerto Rico. The odds of the system moving into the Gulf of Mexico have increased, although it remains uncertain IF this system will develop or IF it poses a real threat to the United States. We will get more clarity on those two questions later this week and into the weekend.
