DYK: There hasn't been an EF4+ tornado in Alabama since April 2011. This 7 year gap between EF4+ tornadoes is the 2nd longest such gap since accurate tornado records started in the 1950s. Only the 12+ years between the Smithfield (1977) & Huntsville (1989) tornadoes is greater.
