CHILLY SUNDAY; WARMER DAYS THIS WEEK… Brrrr! It’s down right chilly across Alabama and northwest Florida on this Sunday afternoon. If you’re within 20 miles of the beach or a local bay, it’s cloudy. Numerous clouds are hanging tough across coastal areas. Inland areas are sunny, however. Temperatures will moderate in the next few days, but not before another round of showers overnight and again Monday night. We’re also looking ahead to next weekend when we could have yet another round of strong storms. Let’s talk…

MULTIPLE ROUNDS OF SHOWERS AHEAD… Clouds will spread inland later today and rain chances will rise in the overnight hours. No severe weather is expected through at least Friday. Round #1 of scattered rain showers happens overnight into Monday morning. Most of us will be dry, but you’ll need an umbrella Monday morning just in case you happen to be under one of the showers. Round #2 of showers happens overnight Monday into Tuesday. These are isentropic showers caused by an area of low pressure to our south in the northern Gulf of Mexico. The odds of severe weather are basically nil, while the odds of thunder remain low as well. Much of the afternoon on Monday will be dry and cloudy before more showers late Monday into Tuesday.

SUNNY, WARM MIDWEEK… After the showers Tuesday morning, clouds move out to the east. Sunny skies are likely Wednesday and Thursday with highs rebounding to near 75° and 80° each day, respectively.

STRONG STORMS THIS WEEKEND… This is still a week away basically, so please understand this info can and will change. There’s still a good bit of uncertainty, but enough certainty to include the mention of a few strong storms for Saturday across our area. Another cold front will dive to the southeast. Because this is 6-7 days out, details remain sparse. This is April in the Deep South, so severe weather possibilities like this are to be expected. I’ll be watching models closely in the days ahead and I’ll bring you the latest on this severe weather risk each day in our morning forecast video.
