HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS… It’s a gorgeous, sunny day with a breeze out of the northwest, meaning many folks will probably be headed to local beaches. Red flags are flying at many Alabama and northwest Florida beaches due to a high risk of rip currents. Rip currents are currents that flow perpendicular to the shoreline, flowing ferociously out to sea.

NUMBER ONE KILLER… Rip currents are actually our region’s number one weather-related killer. Over the last 22 years, rip currents have killed more people than tornadoes and hurricanes combined – in our local area.
