ALL CLEAR FOR SOUTHWEST ALABAMA & NORTHWEST FLORIDA

STORMS EXITING COVINGTON & OKALOOSA COUNTIES… All counties in southwest Alabama and northwest Florida have been cancelled out of the tornado watch that was valid until 2AM. The severe weather threat has ended for all parts of Covington and Okaloosa counties. Andalusia, Opp, Wing, Florala, Lockhart, Carolina, Straughn, Rose Hill, Crestview, Baker, Milligan, Laurel Hill, Destin, Deerland, Fort Walton Beach, and surrounding areas are now OUT of the severe weather risk since the main line of storms have passed.

TORNADO WATCH CONTINUES TO THE EAST… We note a tornado watch continues until 7AM for Coffee, Geneva, Dale, Houston, and Henry counties in southeast Alabama. Several counties in the Florida Panhandle are included, east and southeast of Walton County.

RAIN TO CONTINUE… You may hear a clap of thunder overnight as intermittent rain (some heavy rain may be involved, too) showers continue across our region. Again, the severe weather risk has ended.

THANK YOU… I appreciate everyone who watched our coverage on Facebook, YouTube, and here in the RedZone Weather app today and over the last few days in the lead up to this severe weather event. We are fortunate that damage was minimal overall across our area. We are grateful to all of our wonderful sponsors for empowering us to bring you our coverage!
