Unlike yesterday, storms are more numerous this evening across inland areas of south Alabama… Rain-free at the Alabama and NW Florida beaches as of 4:31PM. pic.twitter.com/ThyeILrrlJ

HEAVY DOWNPOURS OF RAIN… Showers and thunderstorms have been a bit more numerous and a bit more potent compared to yesterday. We note several areas of heavy rain happening across the region early this evening. If you’re near or driving near Chatom, Yarbo, Tallahatta Springs, Monroeville, Repton, Belleville, Red Level, Clearview, or Elba, odds are you’re within sight distance or under very heavy rainfall due to these summer pop-up storms.
Nothing severe locally, but we do note that there have been multiple severe thunderstorm warnings close by in the last hour… One in Lowndes County, AL near Hayneville and one just to our southeast in Washington County, Florida.
Storms will continue to produce heavy rain and lightning over the next few hours before fading away as we lose daytime heating. More pop-up storms are likely on Wednesday!
