The severe thunderstorm warning for Choctaw and Washington counties has been cancelled. The storm has weakened below severe limits.
Rain will be possible shortly in northern Washington, Choctaw, and Clarke counties. The severe weather threat is ending.
Be inside and away from windows if you’re near Chapel Hill, Collumburg, Millry, Silas, Gilbertown, Needham in west Alabama as a severe thunderstorm is moving in from the west… Long chunk of the Alabama Highway 17 corridor is included in this severe thunderstorm warning, meaning we advise no driving from Butler to Yarbo.
These storms will likely gradually weaken as they move toward Clarke County…
CONFIRMED TORNADO NEAR SOUTH VINEMONT… A new Tornado Warning has been issued for much of northern Cullman County. The National Weather Service in Birmingham is confirming a tornado via radar near South Vinemont. All folks in and near Fairview and Holly Pond in eastern Cullman County should be sheltered RIGHT NOW.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning continues for much of Choctaw and NW Washington counties in west Alabama until 8PM. Strong storms are about to cross the Mississippi/Alabama state line and bring heavy rain and gusty winds to places near Silas, Gilbertown, and Millry.
