Rain and storms have been confined to the Florida Panhandle southwest of our local area so far on this Sunday. At the moment, heavy rain is happening near Port Saint Joe, Apalachicola, and Blountstown south and east of Panama City. I expect another round of storms to fire up this afternoon and this evening across south Alabama and northwest Florida. Be ready for scattered downpours!

The National Weather Service has placed our entire area under a “limited threat” of flash flooding valid for today into tonight. There is an extremely moist, humid airmass in place across our region. It won’t take much for the storms today to produce multiple inches of rain over a given location. Isolated instances of flash flooding will be possible.
