LAST OF THE STORMS FIRING UP ACROSS REGION… The end is in sight for showers and storms! After days of numerous thunderstorms across south Alabama and northwest Florida, dry air is beginning to filter into our region across west Alabama. Some of the storms that are popping up across our region are on the stronger side as we approach 5PM. Heavy rain and lots of lightning are happening near Andalusia, Carolina, Libertyville, Sanford, Gantt, Heath, and Straughn in northern Covington County. Another storm that has popped up over the last few minutes near Bratt, Atmore, and Walnut Hill is also producing very heavy rain.

SCATTERED STORMS THROUGH SUNSET… If you’re in a community along or east of Interstate 65, rain chances will remain elevated over the next few hours. This includes places like Opp, Rose Hill, Wing, Crestview, Destin, Milton, Century, Brewton, Atmore, Evergren, Greenville, and Luverne. The drier, more stable air is filtering into Choctaw, Washington, and Clarke counties in west Alabama. Rain chances are now much lower in places like Thomasville, Fulton, Grove Hill, Jackson, Chatom, and Silas.

DRIER WEDNESDAY AHEAD… It seems like we’ve had showers and thunderstorms in the forecast just about everyday over the last few months. That changes tomorrow, when rain chances will plummet due to much drier air in place across much of our region.
