STRONG STORMS NEAR POARCH & ATMORE… Numerous thunderstorms continue near Atmore, Poarch, Wagerville, and Chatom.
These storms are not severe at the moment, but they are producing very heavy rain and lots of lightning. Travel is discouraged along AL21 between Huxford and Atmore.
HEAVY RAIN OVER WEST ALABAMA… Loud and proud thunderstorms continue across portions of Clarke and Washington counties. Ample lightning output is happening near Chatom, Jordan, Yarbo, and the Alabama Highway 17 corridor.
STORMS NEAR ATMORE… Thunderstorms have also fired near Atmore, Poarch, Nokomis, Booneville, McCullough. These storms are drifting northeast. Lightning output has also ramped up near Wind Creek Casino & Hotel.
SCATTERED SATURDAY STORMS… Heavy rain and thunderstorms continue to bubble up across the region on this Saturday afternoon. At the moment, a complex of heavy rain and storms continues to stream northwest into Washington, Clarke, and Choctaw counties in west Alabama.
Storms are also bubbling up over the Mobile metro area, near Gulf Crest, Deer Park, and Bay Minette. I expect storms to continue to pop up over the next few hours.
