STORMS NEAR MONTGOMERY… Numerous thunderstorms are happening this afternoon in the south central part of Alabama near Montgomery. If you’re headed northbound on I-65 or U.S. Highway 31 into areas in/near the Montgomery metro area, heavy rain and lots of lightning are happening. These storms are not moving much at all, meaning urban small stream flooding is a real concern.

A Flash Flood Warning continues until 4:15PM for much of Lee County, including the Auburn University campus.

CLASSIC LATE SUMMER DAY… Temperatures are in the 90s across the Deep South and isolated thunderstorms continue to fire up across much of Alabama and northwest Florida. As of 2:22PM, we note heavy rain is happening near Lottie, Rabun, Perdido, Nokomis, Navarre, Gateswood, Wing, Gantt, and Mossy Head. These storms are not moving very much and are dropping very heavy rain.

Isolated storms will continue to fire up over the next few hours.
