ISOLATED STORMS FIRING ACROSS REGION… Showers and thunderstorms continue to fire up across south Alabama and northwest Florida. Storms have popped up in the last few minutes along the US84 corridor in western Clarke County near Coffeeville. Storms have also fired on FL97 near Davisville and Walnut Hill in northern Escambia County, FL. I wouldn’t be shocked if southern fringes of Atmore get some rain from this storm.
Numerous storms also continue across Okaloosa County near Niceville, Fort Walton Beach, Eglin AFB, Milligan, and Blackman. These storms are not moving very much.
More storms will fire up over the next few hours across our region. Be ready for scattered downpours of heavy rain! Widespread severe weather is not expected.
STORMS FIRING ACROSS OKALOOSA COUNTY… Seversl showers and thunderstorms have fired up early this afternoon across Okaloosa County in NW Florida. Storms are also firing in the northern part of Covington County near Gantt Lake.
Scattered thunderstorms are expected to continue to pop up across south Alabama and northwest Florida over the next few hours. Be ready for scattered heavy downpours of rain!
The Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, and ITCZ between the Antilles & Africa remain QUIET! Always good news for August. One non-tropical area of low pressure well northeast of Bermuda could become subtropical storm over the next few days as it races northeastward. No threat to U.S. pic.twitter.com/N5JBGp7Acl
