Storm surge fatalities in past major events like Katrina and Sandy were disproportionately among the elderly. Same last year in #Michael. All 5 who died in storm surge in Florida were ages 60-91. We obviously still have work to do in evacuating our elderly friends and neighbors.

SUNNY, NICE SATURDAY; GORGEOUS EASTER SUNDAY… Plenty of sunshine is likely across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Saturday with high temperatures peaking around 70° by 3PM. A cool, dry airmass remains in place across our region.
CHILLY START, NICE EASTER… Temperatures will be in the mid-40s for Easter Sunday daybreak. Grab a jacket if you’re headed out to an Easter sunrise service! We quickly rise to the upper-70s in the early afternoon hours. Some spots may hit the 80 degree mark by 3PM on Easter Sunday. Sunshine is likely throughout the day.
NEXT WEEK PREVIEW… Sunny skies are expected Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of the upcoming week with high temperatures in the low-80s. Isolated showers and storms may return on Thursday ahead of a higher rain chance for the upcoming weekend. It’s too early to know whether severe weather issues will be a concern. I’ll keep you posted over the next few days in the RedZone Weather app.
Have a great Saturday!
