CUMULUS FIELD IN PLACE ACROSS REGION… Just about everyone across the local area is within a view of the puffy, white, field of cumulus clouds that is developing across the area. Some of these cumulus clouds have bubbled up into cumulonimbus clouds that are producing rain and storms.

SCATTERED STORMS DRIFTING NORTH… As of 1:21PM, the largest cluster of showers and thunderstorms is happening over the Conecuh National Forest in parts of Covington and Escambia (AL) counties. This cluster of storms is also producing areas of heavy rain in northern Okaloosa and Santa Rosa counties. Storms are drifting north-northwest very slowly at 5-10mph. Heavy rain is happening near Roberts, Bethel, Dixie, Carolina, Pleasant Home, Baker, and Brooklyn.

MORE STORMS TO POP UP… Separate from the cluster of storms discussed above, we’re also observing pop-up thunderstorms developing near Stockton and Tallahatta Springs. I expect more storms to continue to pop up over the next few hours. Be ready for scattered downpours of heavy rain at times!
