CLUSTERS OF STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS… Storms are numerous in coverage today across south Alabama and northwest Florida. As of 3:07PM, storms continue to fire up across the region. Right now, the heaviest rain is happening in several clusters of storms…

1. The severe thunderstorm happening near Flomaton, Century, Jay, and Mosquito Flats continues to drift slowly southward. There probably is small hail falling right now along the Florida Highway 4 corridor between Jay and Century in the swampy areas near the Escambia River bridge. Storms are also happening in Atmore, Poarch, and areas near Nokomis and Perdido.

2. Storms are quite strong, but not quite severe, near Georgiana and McKenzie in southern Butler County. This storm is producing extremely heavy rain along the US31 corridor north of Evergreen and south of Georgiana.

3. Storms are also happening across much of Covington County. Heavy rain is happening near Pleasant Home, Florala, Wing, and River Falls. I wouldn’t be surprised to have heavy rain shortly near Andalusia and Gantt.

4. Heavy rain and storms seem to be rapidly firing up near Monroeville, Excel, and Frisco City. Storms are smaller, but seem to be becoming more numerous across the southern half of Monroe County near Uriah and Megargal.

5. Storms are also happening across Mobile, Baldwin, and Washington counties this afternoon. These storms remain under severe limits as of 3:07PM. Clarke County is rain-free at the moment but that could change over the next hour.

6. Isolated storms are happening in northwest Florida near Beulah, Laurel Hill, and Fort Walton Beach. These storms are producing localized areas of heavy rain.
