NICE SUNDAY; RAIN & STORMS RETURN TUESDAY… Mostly sunny skies are set to continue into the evening hours on this Sunday as high temperatures peak in the mid-70s. Monday will be nice before rain and thunderstorms return for the middle part of the week. Rain chances are going up because of an advancing cold front that will cross our area on Thursday, ushering in much cooler air from the north. High temperatures this weekend will be in the 60s with lows in the 40s! The clash of the warm and cold air may set up a few strong storms on Thursday. Let’s look at your forecast details.

OVERNIGHT LOWS NEAR 50° MONDAY MORNING… Temperatures will peak around 75° at 3PM today before falling into the mid-60s by 8PM. We’re headed to an overnight low in the 50-52° range at 6AM on Monday. Mostly clear skies are expected overnight.

MOSTLY SUNNY MONDAY… High temperatures will surge into the upper-70s and near 80° on Monday. I expect skies to be mostly sunny in the morning hours before cloud coverage starts to increase in the afternoon hours. Rain chances will remain low, and any showers and storms that do form will happen near the immediate beaches.

LOW RAIN CHANCE MONDAY NIGHT… Isolated showers and thunderstorms may form over the northern Gulf of Mexico on Monday night and drift toward the Alabama and northwest Florida beaches. Severe weather is not expected on Monday evening, but there could be cloud-to-ground lightning in the stronger storms that develop.

RAIN RETURNS TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY… Numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected on both Tuesday and Wednesday. For now, the risk of severe weather remains low. Rain amounts will generally be in the 1 to 2 inch range in total through Thursday, meaning widespread flash flooding issues are not expected.

COOLER WEEKEND AHEAD… After the passage of the cold front on Thursday evening, temperatures will decline pretty substantially for Friday and Saturday. High temperatures will be in the 60s with morning lows in the 40s this weekend. Sunny skies are tentatively expected for Saturday and Sunday!
