CLEARING SKIES TODAY AS A GRADUAL WARMING TREND BEGINS… Clouds are on the way out today and temperatures will start to creep upward. High temperatures on this Friday will be in the mid- to upper-50s across south Alabama and northwest Florida. Clear skies are expected tonight for the high school football playoff games. Saturday and Sunday look quite nice with sunshine and temperatures rebounding into the mid-60s in the afternoon hours. While the early half of the upcoming week looks quiet, we could have a few showers about a week from today. Let’s look at your forecast details.

QUITE COOL TONIGHT FOR HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS… Skies will be clear for the high school football games this evening across the region as the playoffs continue. Kickoff temperatures at 7PM will be in the upper-40s, so you’ll need the jacket and heat gear. One bit of good news is winds will be out of the north but will be light and variable with no strong wind expected. By 9PM, most spots will be around 45°.

SUNNY SKIES THIS WEEKEND… Sunshine is the weather headline this weekend as temperatures go up ever so slightly. High temperatures on Saturday will peak around 63-65° with a very small increase on tap for Sunday: 64-66° range is expected.

QUIET START TO NEXT WEEK… Monday through Wednesday of the upcoming week look to have quite a bit of sunshine each day with high temperatures approaching 70° by Wednesday. Overnight lows will be in the 40s.

NEXT RAIN CHANCE A WEEK FROM TODAY… The next chance of rain for our local area will happen either late Thursday or Friday (one week from today). We’ll be able to nail down specifics early next week.

TROPICS ARE QUIET… It’s not exactly normal to have tropical or hurricane issues in the month of November, but issues certainly can happen this late in the Atlantic hurricane season. Fortunately, the National Hurricane Center continues to indicate that no tropical development is expected over the next 5-7 days in the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, or Atlantic Ocean. There is a high chance that the last tropical storm of the season has already formed and hurricane season is effectively over. The official last day of hurricane season happens on November 30.
