NEW TORNADO WATCH INLAND TILL 4AM; HAVE A WAY TO GET WARNINGS… Conecuh, Butler, Monroe, Crenshaw, Wilcox, and Clarke counties are now under a Tornado Watch until 4AM. Today has been mainly quiet so far across south Alabama and northwest Florida, but storms are on the way for the overnight hours and some of those storms could be strong or severe. We highly suggest that everyone have multiple ways to receive urgent weather warnings before you go to sleep, meaning you need a device that will wake you up if a tornado warning becomes required for your location. While storms are overall a bit weaker than they once were across Mississippi, it is far too early to give ANYONE locally an “all clear.” We will be able to do that in the overnight hours as the main line of storms passes through given areas in our region.

NEW TORNADO WATCH… If you’re in Greenville, Georgiana, McKenzie, Evergreen, Castleberry, Owassa, Monroeville, Tunnel Springs, Uriah, Beatrice, Thomasville, Jackson, Leroy, Coffeeville, Whatley, Chatom, Millry, Butler, Pennington, Sweet Water, Camden, Montgomery, Auburn (AL), Alex City, Prattville, Wetumpka, Pine Hill, Oak Hill, Hayneville, or the surrounding area, you are now involved in a Tornado Watch until 4AM.

LONG-LIVED SUPERCELL PRODUCED TORNADO NEAR DEMOPOLIS… Confirmed damage has happened in parts of Choctaw, Hale, and Marengo counties in the central part of Alabama where a long-tracked supercell has intermittently been producing a tornado. At the time of this update at 9:25PM CST, tornado warnings are in effect for parts of Bibb and Perry counties just southwest of the Birmingham area. This cell has done serious damage in Salt Well in Marengo County west of Demopolis where emergency managers report “3 houses are gone.”

NEXT VIDEO UPDATE… My next video update will be if/when we have a tornado warning in south Alabama or northwest Florida. Our policy of live updates is outlined at redzoneweather.com/coverage and we always intend to cover each tornado warning diligently for our Primary Coverage Area. We had one warning earlier just to our north in Choctaw County that we covered as a courtesy, but so far, no warnings locally. Join me overnight if we have warnings!

I will have PLENTY of updates posted overnight in the RedZone Weather app. redzoneweather.com/app is the link for the free download.
