MOSTLY SUNNY TODAY; RAIN & A FEW STORMS LIKELY ON WEDNESDAY… We get a break from the rain today but not for long as showers are expected to return to our local area on Wednesday and then again on Friday. Temperatures today will peak in the mid-60s across south Alabama and northwest Florida. Unlike yesterday when most spots ended up staying covered in clouds for much of the daylight hours, today will feature more sunshine across the region. Rain will return on Wednesday ahead of dry conditions Thursday before another round of rain on Friday. Your full forecast details are below.
DRY TODAY; FEW CLOUDS LATER THIS EVENING… No significant weather issues are expected on this Tuesday other than the few areas of fog in place across the region this morning. High temperatures will peak in the mid-60s today. Cloud coverage will probably increase this evening across the region ahead of a few showers becoming possible over west Alabama late tonight, long after sunset. Temperatures this evening will be in the mid-50s.
RAIN LIKELY WEDNESDAY; A FEW THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE… Intermittent rain will be the big weather story locally on Wednesday. Keep the rain gear handy throughout the day as a dreary, wet, cool pattern will be in place. The good news is I am not expecting any severe weather issues for land areas on Wednesday. There could be a few isolated thunderstorms closer to the immediate coast and certainly offshore, but thunderstorm action should be very limited to nonexistent over land areas. Atmospheric instability, especially rooted at the surface level, will be near zero. There could be some elevated storms, meaning you may hear some thunder at times. The overall severe weather risk should remain near zero, however. I will be posting radar updates throughout the day in the RedZone Weather app.
PARTLY CLOUDY ON THURSDAY AHEAD OF RAIN FRIDAY… Thursday will feature another break from the rain with temperatures in the low-60s by mid-afternoon. Skies will remain partly cloudy throughout the day on Thursday.
ANOTHER ROUND OF RAIN ON FRIDAY INTO EARLY SATURDAY… Another area of low pressure will move our way from the west on Friday, meaning yet another rain chance for the entire area. Severe weather parameters remain low, but we will have to monitor for a few general thunderstorms throughout the day.
DRIER & TRENDING A BIT WARMER THIS WEEKEND… Showers may linger into the very early morning hours of Saturday, but clearing skies are likely by the late morning hours. High temperatures will creep up into the mid-60s on Saturday. We will approach 70 on Sunday! I expect skies to be mostly sunny on Sunday ahead of another rain chance setting up for early next week.
APP… If you haven’t already, be sure to download the free RedZone Weather app to keep up with all the latest information on the world of weather in south Alabama and northwest Florida. redzoneweather.com/app is the link for the free download. ?️Well the clouds have finally moved on after keeping temperatures down all day. Unfortunately, clear skies and light winds could lead to areas of fog tonight. Some areas could see patchy dense fog. May want to plan a little extra time into your morning commute. #mobwx pic.twitter.com/CQjb5gwNhH
