RAIN & CLOUDS EXITING TO THE EAST TODAY; DRY SATURDAY AHEAD… The rain has exited our area to the east and clouds will move out later today now that an area of low pressure and trailing cold front have passed by our area. Temperatures will rise into the low-60s this afternoon. We have a nice, seasonal evening on tap with temperatures likely to be in the 50s. You’ll need the jacket tonight but you will not need the rain gear. The next chance of rain happens on Sunday, but not before a nice, dry Saturday. Temperatures will be near 60° tomorrow afternoon. We’re also looking ahead to the potential for more rain and maybe a few thunderstorms by the middle part of next week. Let’s look at your forecast details.
NICE, SEASONAL AFTERNOON & EVENING… Other than a few lingering areas of sprinkles and light rain to the east, most of the rain has exited our area well to our east. Cloud coverage should continue to decrease throughout the day and most spots should be sunny by the time we get to 1PM. One of the most difficult things to forecast that I encounter multiple times each year is how quickly low clouds will move out behind the passage of a cold front. Sometimes clouds can unexpectedly linger behind a front and camp out for many hours. That doesn’t appear to be the case today, but nonetheless I’ll be watching satellite trends and bring you the latest in the RedZone Weather app. High temperatures today will be in the 59-63° range in most spots.
NICE, COOL SATURDAY… Mostly sunny skies are expected for Saturday. High temperatures will be in the upper-50s across south Alabama and northwest Florida. No rain is expected on Saturday. Note that temperatures will likely be in the upper-40s by Saturday evening.
SHOWERS POSSIBLE ON SUNDAY INTO MONDAY… Isolated showers may happen on Sunday, particularly in the afternoon and evening hours as another area of low pressure slides by just to the north of our region. It seems likely that widespread rain and storms won’t happen. This will be a situation where rain and a few thunderstorms will be widely spaced across the region. Rain looks most likely during the evening hours of Sunday into the early morning hours of Monday.
DRY TUESDAY; MORE RAIN BY WEDNESDAY… Tuesday is slated to be dry ahead of more rain becoming possible Wednesday and Thursday of the upcoming week. High temperatures will be in the 60s with morning lows in the 40s. Severe weather parameters, for now, seem low. We’ll keep watching trends and bring you the latest in the RedZone Weather app.
APP… redzoneweather.com/app is the link where you can download the free RedZone Weather app. We post brief updates throughout each day in the app, keeping you up-to-date about the latest happenings in weather across south Alabama and northwest Florida. Once you have the free app downloaded to your iOS or Android device, be sure to visit the Alerts tab (lower right corner) then tap the large, yellow Alert Settings button to customize the alerts you would like to receive straight from me.
