COOLER AIR ARRIVES NEXT WEEK… After record-setting heat earlier today and more on the way for Friday afternoon, we’re looking ahead to cooler temperatures set to arrive in the middle part of the upcoming week. A cold front will move by on Tuesday, bringing a chance of showers and storms into south Alabama and northwest Florida. Wednesday morning and Thursday morning of next week will likely be the coolest mornings. Overnight lows on Thursday are depicted in the attached map. Temperatures won’t ever get close to the freezing mark and no frost is expected at this time. The cool down will last 3-4 days, at least.
RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES TODAY… 84° was today’s record high temperature at Pensacola, breaking the old record of 83° set in 2012. Mobile tied the record high set in 1935 of 86° today. Temperatures on Friday will again be in record-setting territory with most spots expected to peak in the mid- to upper-80s across our region by 2PM.
