MILD, SUNNY SATURDAY; STORMS RETURN WEDNESDAY… The tropics are quiet and our local weather is quiet for now, but storms are on the horizon – specifically for Wednesday. Before we get there, a splendid weekend is on tap for south Alabama and northwest Florida. High temperatures will be near 77 today and on Sunday with overnight lows in the 50s. More sunshine is in store for Monday and Tuesday ahead of an approaching frontal boundary on Wednesday that will cause rain chances to be higher by the end of the upcoming week.
STRONG STORMS POSSIBLE BY MIDWEEK… Showers and thunderstorms are expected to move across our region on Wednesday. It is too early to know for sure if strong to severe storms will be possible locally, but that IS a possibility at this point. It appears the greater combination of atmospheric ingredients to support severe weather will likely happen to our north, based on early model trends. We will continue to monitor this developing midweek severe weather potential over the weekend and bring you the latest in the RedZone Weather app.
THANKSGIVING & BLACK FRIDAY FORECAST… Isolated showers may be possible on Thanksgiving Day and on Black Friday. For now, we’ll call it a 20% chance of rain each day with high temperatures likely to be in the mid-70s with overnight lows in the mid-50s.
TROPICS REMAIN QUIET… The Atlantic Basin is quiet. The chances are very low of any new tropical storms forming over the next several days. The National Hurricane Center has highlighted an area in the southwestern Atlantic Ocean between Bermuda and The Bahamas that has a low-end (now 10%) chance of becoming a subtropical storm in the days ahead. No issues from this storm are expected in the Gulf of Mexico, regardless of if formal development happens.
APP… Be sure to download our free RedZone Weather app if you haven’t done so already. redzoneweather.com/app is the link where you can download the app for your iOS or Android device.
