NEAR PERFECT WEATHER TODAY; SHOWERS POSSIBLE THURSDAY P.M. INTO FRIDAY… It does not get much better around here with full sunshine expected today with high temperatures in the mid-70s. Our weather pattern will remain quite nice today through tomorrow morning. There may be a passing cloud or two this afternoon into this evening but no rain is expected until tomorrow afternoon and evening.
MAINLY DRY ON THURSDAY; FEW SHOWERS POSSIBLE LATE… Winds have shifted and are now out of the south, allowing for warm, moist Gulf air to move inland across our region. This will pave the way for a few showers to form tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon into the evening hours. Widespread rain is not expected but I do expect a few isolated showers to be around. High temperatures on Thursday will be in the mid-70s.
RAIN POSSIBLE FRIDAY… Scattered showers and perhaps a few thunderstorms will be possible on Friday as an area of low pressure develops and passes to our north. We will call it a 30% chance of showers tomorrow, meaning there will be many areas that probably have no rain at all. Some locales, however, will have rain. Highs on Friday will be near 70 in most spots.
MILD WEEKEND AHEAD… This will be the warmest weekend we have had so far in the year 2021. Highs on Saturday and Sunday will be in the mid-70s each day. There is a real chance some locales make a run at the upper-70s. Low (not zero!) rain chances will prevail through the weekend.
SHOWERS & STORMS POSSIBLE MONDAY… Rain and storms will likely peak in coverage locally on Monday as a frontal boundary slides through our region. There have been some inconsistent model indications that a few strong or marginally severe storms could be possible with this system, but for now, the potential remains fairly low. This is something we will be monitoring over the next few days.
MORE MILD WEATHER NEXT WEEK… The last days of February and first few days of March continue to show signs of above average temperatures. High temperatures are expected to be in the 70s in each of the next 7-10 days with morning lows in the 50s.
