The Storm Prediction Center has added a very rare Level 5 (out of 5) High severe weather risk zone for parts of northwest Alabama, northeast Mississippi, and southern Tennessee valid for later today.

WARNING CANCELLED… The severe thunderstorm warning that was in effect for parts of Monroe and Conecuh counties in southwest Alabama has been cancelled. The storm, now near Burnt Corn, Bowles, Owassa, and Evergreen has weakened to below severe limits. Small hail and prolific lightning will continue to be possible, in addition to the ongoing heavy downpours of rain.
STORM NEAR PINEVIEW… A separate thunderstorm is happening near Pineview, Flomaton, and Barnetts Crossroads. This storm is moving northeast toward Wallace, Appleton, Foster, and Brewton. This storm is producing loud thunder and quite a bit of lightning. This storm is also under severe limits.
