MAINLY SUNNY TODAY; FEW STORMS AROUND THIS WEEKEND… Today is the first day that rain chances are not exactly at zero in quite awhile! Don’t get me wrong, rain chances are in the 0-10% chance range today, but that is a sign of things to come this weekend when we will have slightly higher rain chances! High temperatures on this Thursday will be in the low-90s across much of the area with upper-80s expected at the immediate coast. This weekend, we are expecting a few showers at times, particularly Saturday afternoon into the evening hours. Highs this weekend will remain in the mid- to upper-90s with some spots inevitably hitting the 90 degree mark. A few more Thursday morning forecast details are below.
SCATTERED STORMS THIS WEEKEND… “Splash and dash” showers and thunderstorms will be possible this weekend. While widespread severe weather is not expected, there could be a few storms at times, including some storms that may produce loud thunder and cloud-to-ground lightning. Keep in mind that most communities will likely not have rain this weekend, but SOME will. I’ll have radar updates posted throughout the weekend as needed in the RedZone Weather app.
LOW RAIN CHANCES INTO NEXT WEEK… Memorial Day Monday will be seasonal with warm temperatures. High temps will be in the upper-80s and near 90. Rain chances remain low, but not entirely zero, as we go into next week. No organized severe weather risks are noted as we go into next week, thankfully.
TROPICS QUIET… No issues to report this morning in the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, or Atlantic Ocean in terms of tropical storms. No new tropical storm formation is expected over the next 5-7 days. The 2021 Atlantic Hurricane Season officially kicks off on June 1.
APP… If you haven’t already, be sure to download the free RedZone Weather app to keep up with all the latest information on the world of weather in south Alabama and northwest Florida. redzoneweather.com/app is the link for the free download. Once you have the app downloaded to your iOS or Android device, be sure to visit the Alerts tab (lower right corner) and tap the large, yellow Alert Settings button to customize the alerts you would like to receive straight from me.
See all the details in your Thursday morning #rzw forecast video. Have a great day!
Perfect beach day if you're headed to our gorgeous Alabama or northwest Florida beaches today! High temperatures will be in the low-90s this afternoon.
