RAIN & STORMS MOVE OUT LATER TODAY; DRIER DAYS AHEAD… Rain and occasional thunderstorms will continue to be possible on this Wednesday, primarily this morning into the early afternoon hours. There is an ongoing, low-end severe weather risk for communities close to the Alabama and northwest Florida beaches, mainly due to a low-end risk of a few thunderstorms ramping up and producing large hail and gusty winds. The overall tornado risk at this point is very low across the entire region. Rain chances will decrease this afternoon into this evening as we trend toward drier conditions on Thursday. High temperatures on this Wednesday will be in the upper-70s and near 80 in most spots. More forecast details are below.
LEVEL 1 (OUT OF 5) LOW-END SEVERE WEATHER RISK NEAR COAST… The Storm Prediction Center maintains a low-end, Level 1 (out of 5) severe weather risk today, driven by the low-end risk of hail and damaging wind gusts. This risk zone is in place mainly for communities closer to the Alabama and northwest Florida beaches. This risk will lessen throughout the day.
SUNSHINE RETURNS FOR THURSDAY AFTERNOON… Clouds will likely persist overnight into early Thursday morning, but we should begin to see clearing skies in the late morning hours. By the early evening on Thursday, most locales across south Alabama and northwest Florida will have clear skies in place. High temperatures on Thursday will be near 80 in most spots.
NICE, SUNNY FRIDAY… Perfect weather is ahead for Friday. High temperatures will be around 80 with a full supply of sunshine throughout the day.
MOSTLY SUNNY & WARM THIS WEEKEND… Mostly sunny skies are likely Saturday ahead of a few more clouds in place on Sunday. No rain is expected this weekend at this time. High temperatures will rise into the mid-80s on Saturday and upper-80s on Sunday. I will certainly be doing my best to enjoy the quiet weather this weekend and I would suggest you do the same, if you can!
MORE RAIN AND STORMS POSSIBLE NEXT WEEK… Our pattern trends toward a more unstable solution Monday into Tuesday as scattered showers and occasional thunderstorms return to the forecast. It is too early to know if strong to severe storms will be possible next week. This is something we will be monitoring this weekend. I’ll bring you the latest in the RedZone Weather app.
