SCATTERED P.M. STORMS LIKELY TODAY… Another round of showers and thunderstorms will likely develop across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Saturday. High temperatures will peak in the low- to mid-90s. Just like the last few days, most of the storms that develop will be under severe limits. Storms will be capable, however, of producing intense lightning, loud thunder, and gusty winds in addition to the torrential downpours that accompany these summer storms.

GRACE OVER MEXICO, HENRI THREATENS NEW ENGLAND… Hurricane Grace made landfall overnight in the mainland of Mexico as a powerful, major hurricane. Grace intensified rapidly late last night immediately before landfall. The other storm of note, Henri, is expected to cause hurricane impacts in parts of Long Island, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and potentially Massachusetts over the next 2-3 days. Places like Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket are under a Hurricane Watch this morning. No other named systems are expected to develop this weekend in the Gulf of Mexico or Caribbean Sea.

I’ll have radar updates posted throughout the day in the RedZone Weather app. Have a wonderful Saturday!
