HARD FREEZE LIKELY THIS WEEKEND; WIND CHILL VALUES MAY BE IN 10s SAT. MORNING… Saturday and Sunday mornings will be quite cold with air temperatures in the low- to mid-20s. Saturday morning will likely feature wind chill values in the upper-10s across inland stretches of south Alabama. If you’re planning to be outside or hunting Saturday morning, bundle up big time! Highs on Saturday will not get out of the 40s. Another very cold night is ahead on Sunday, albeit probably with less wind. Temperatures will again dip into the low- to mid-20s by daybreak Sunday morning.

COLD FRONT TO MOVE BY FRIDAY MORNING… Our next weather system slated to move by our region is a cold front currently situated well to our north. This frontal boundary will cross our region on Friday morning, ushering in colder air and paving the way for the hard freeze setting up this weekend. While I cannot completely rule out a few rain showers Friday during the daytime hours, most spots will likely remain dry.

PATTERN CHANGE NEXT WEEK… After being in the “ice box” this weekend, next week looks to be slightly warmer with high temperatures in the 60s. Morning lows will likely be in the 40s. That is a bit more seasonal and the range of temperatures we expect climatologically for this time of year. Rain will become likely by the middle of next week, although it is far too early for details or to know if severe weather issues will be a concern.

My next full forecast video and text discussion will be posted by 7:15AM tomorrow morning. Have a nice evening!
