WARM TEMPS ACROSS REGION TODAY; FEW SHOWERS FARTHER INLAND… Temperatures will soar into the low-80s across our region on this Wednesday. Just like yesterday, the vast majority of local communities across south Alabama and northwest Florida will remain dry. I cannot completely rule out a few showers and thunderstorms across parts of west Alabama today, mainly in areas to the west of the Alabama River. Severe storms, however, are not expected. Slightly cooler temperatures will arrive this weekend, although there is less certainty about the forecast for Friday as cold air may not move as far south as previously thought. A few more Wednesday morning forecast notes are below.
DENSE FOG ADVISORY THIS MORNING… The local National Weather Service continues a Dense Fog Advisory for many counties across the region this morning. Please take it slow and easy if you’re driving this morning as fog is, indeed, dense in many spots across the region. The dense fog should burn off by 10AM areawide.
WARM TEMPS TO PERSIST THROUGH FRIDAY… High temperatures will be around the 80 degree mark today and again on Thursday. While slightly cooler air will arrive Friday, there is a real chance high temperatures will end up being a bit warmer than suggested in previous forecasts. For now, we will continue to suggest a high near 70. Depending on how fast a frontal boundary arrives from the north, we may have to adjust projected high temperatures for Friday a bit higher. Showers will be possible on Friday across the region.
APP… If you haven’t already, be sure to download the free RedZone Weather app to keep up with all the latest information on the world of weather in south Alabama and northwest Florida. redzoneweather.com/app is the link for the free download. Once you have the app downloaded to your iOS or Android device, be sure to visit the Alerts tab (lower right corner) and tap the large, yellow Alert Settings button to customize the alerts you would like to receive straight from me.
