CLOUDY TODAY; FEW SHOWERS POSSIBLE; LONG STREAK OF SUNNY DAYS AHEAD… Cloudy skies are expected on this Monday with a chance of a few scattered showers this morning into the early afternoon hours. The greatest probability of rain happening will be in areas along, south, and east of Interstate 65 this morning mainly in parts of Covington, Escambia (AL), Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, and Escambia (FL) counties. Keep the jackets handy throughout the day as high temperatures will only be in the mid-50s. Temperatures will moderate slowly over the next few days with highs likely to be in the mid-60s by the end of the week. A few more forecast notes are below.

SHOWERS POSSIBLE TODAY; COOL TEMPERATURES… A few showers will be possible today, mainly along the eastern side of our local area. Rain amounts are expected to generally be fairly light with total rain amounts likely to be less than 0.25″ in all locales. Highs today will be in the mid-50s.

MOSTLY SUNNY TUESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY… After today, we have a long streak of nice, sunny days on tap. High temperatures (after today) will generally be in the 60s with morning lows expected to be in the 30s.

NO SIGNS OF WINTER WEATHER OR SEVERE WEATHER, FOR NOW… Long range models paint a fairly dry, consistently calm forecast over the next 7-14 days across south Alabama and northwest Florida. I do not see any notable, significant cold air intrusions that would point to snow/ice issues across our region. I also do not see any significant severe weather setups on the immediate horizon, either. Good news!
