SUNNY THURSDAY; SUNNY WEEKEND WITH WARMER TEMPS… Sunny skies are expected on this Thursday. High temperatures will be in the low-80s across south Alabama and northwest Florida. We are looking ahead to a perfect weather weekend with high temperatures rising into the upper-80s on both Saturday and Sunday with plenty of sunshine expected. Our next rain chance happens in the early part of the upcoming week when scattered showers and thunderstorms will yet again become possible. Fortunately, it appears the overall risk of severe weather will likely remain low. A few more Thursday morning forecast notes are below.
PICTURE PERFECT WEEKEND… Gorgeous weather conditions are expected on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Sunny skies are in the forecast each day with high temperatures expected to be in the mid- to upper-80s. It will certainly be a weekend when sunscreen is needed if you’re planning to be outside for an extended period of time. UV Index values will be well in excess of 10 for much of the weekend.
NEXT RAIN CHANCE EARLY NEXT WEEK… Showers and a few thunderstorms may become possible on Monday evening. Rain chances will rise on Tuesday when a round of thunderstorms is expected to move across our region. For now, it looks like the dynamic support for this weather system will remain well to our north, thus severe weather seems rather unlikely as a cold front crosses our region. Rain will be likely on Tuesday at times.
HOPE TO SEE YOU AT THE MULLET TOSS… I am looking forward to spending the weekend in Orange Beach, AL at the 37th Interstate Annual Mullet Toss. If you’re there, I would love to say hello! For folks unfamiliar with the event, patrons toss a deceased mullet fish across the state line from Florida into Alabama at the Flora-Bama. This is one of the Gulf Coast’s biggest annual beach events. It also is a driver for charity. According to the Flora-Bama website: “A contribution for each fish flung will go to Local Youth Charities, including local school education and prevention programs from the Community Drug & Alcohol Council, Inc. Each year, we have raised and contributed over $40,000 to local charities, especially youth organizations, on both sides of the state line.”

MORE SUNSHINE TODAY; GORGEOUS WEEKEND AHEAD… Sunny skies will continue across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Wednesday. High temperatures will be in the upper-70s in most communities across the region. A few clouds will be possible this afternoon into this evening. More sunshine is ahead for Thursday and Friday with increasingly warm temperatures.
PERFECT WEATHER THIS WEEKEND… High temperatures will rise into the upper-80s by Friday and extending into Saturday and Sunday. Full sunshine is expected Friday and Saturday ahead of partly cloudy skies by Sunday. Get out and enjoy the weekend as we are not expecting any rain!
NEXT RAIN CHANCE EARLY NEXT WEEK… Scattered showers and thunderstorms will become possible on Monday evening and again on Tuesday. For now, severe weather seems rather unlikely, although since we remain in the core of our climatological severe weather season, we must keep a close eye on each passing weather system. Let’s enjoy the wonderful weather this weekend and we will start focusing on early next week on Sunday.
