SUNSHINE TODAY; SHOWERS & STORMS TO RETURN FRIDAY AND INTO THE WEEKEND… Mostly sunny skies are in store on this Thursday ahead of rain and storms returning to our weather forecast in a significant way as we go into the weekend. Highs today will be in the low- to mid-90s with heat index values likely to be in the mid- to upper-90s. While I cannot completely rule out a shower or storm this afternoon into this evening, I expect nearly all of our local communities to remain dry.
NO FORMAL SEVERE WEATHER RISK, BUT STRONG STORMS AROUND THIS WEEKEND… Loud and proud thunderstorms will be the norm as we go into the weekend, particularly in the afternoon and evening hours each day. While the tornado risk remains at or near zero, storms will be capable of producing cloud-to-ground lightning, gusty winds, small hail, and torrential downpours of rain. Highs will be in the upper-80s this weekend with morning lows in the 60s.
SCATTERED STORMS INTO NEXT WEEK… Thunderstorms will continue to be possible as we go into next week. While Monday will likely featured scattered thunderstorms, I expect storms to be less in coverage as we get into Tuesday and Wednesday. There still will be a few thunderstorms around each day, primarily in the afternoon hours,
