SEASONAL PATTERN AHEAD: MORE P.M. STORMS… Thunderstorms will pop up this afternoon into this evening across the region as our seasonal summertime weather pattern is set to continue. High temperatures will be in the low- to mid-90s today. Looking ahead, I see no reason to modify the extended forecast in any significant way. Pop-up thunderstorms will continue to be the norm for the foreseeable future with most of the storms happening in the afternoon and evening hours each day. High temperatures will continue to be in the 90s with morning lows in the low- to mid-70s.

TROPICAL UPDATE: QUIET FOR NOW… The North Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea, and the Gulf of Mexico remain quiet. No tropical storms are expected to form over the next 5-7 days. The Atlantic Hurricane Season has a climatological peak around September 11. Hopefully our quiet streak in the tropics will continue in the weeks ahead. Regardless, I’ll keep you posted every step of the way.
