NEW TROPICAL DEPRESSION FORMS; LIKELY TO BE HURRICANE NEAR LESSER ANTILLES… As if we didn’t have enough going on, Tropical Depression 3 has formed in the central Atlantic Ocean. The system will likely become a hurricane later this week on approach to the Lesser Antilles. Once this system becomes a tropical storm, it will take the name, “Bret.” It is too early to know if direct impacts in the continental United States will be possible. We note another, separate tropical wave west/behind TD3 may also develop into a named tropical storm later this week.

SEVERE STORMS ONGOING LOCALLY… We are in the middle of a serious severe weather event that continues on this Monday afternoon. Severe storms continue in parts of southern Mobile County near Dauphin Island and Bayou La Batre. A FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY is in effect for southern Mobile and Baldwin counties due to 10+ inches of rainfall falling in total over the last 4-5 hours. Do not drive in that area unless you absolutely must!

NEW STORMS FIRING UP INLAND… We are tracking new thunderstorms that are firing up across interior regions of southwest Alabama in the RedZone Weather app. Join me there for more details over the next few hours. IF we have more tornado warnings, join me on Facebook Live and YouTube Live for the very latest.

APP ALERTS… Many updates will be posted throughout the day in the RedZone Weather app. redzoneweather.com/app is the link for the free download. Be sure to visit the Alerts tab (bottom right corner) and tap the large, yellow “Alert Settings” button to customize the alerts you’d like to receive from me. If you like a lot of info, be sure to toggle ON Low-Level Alerts.

Have a nice Monday evening!
