TEMPS IN MID-60S BY DAYBREAK TOMORROW; SLIGHTLY LESS HUMID THIS WEEK… Ever so slightly cooler, slightly drier air is infiltrating into our region on this Tuesday. High temperatures today will be in the low- to mid-90s. Tonight will feel more pleasant than many of the last several nights as temperatures will decline into the 70s with mid- to upper-60s expected across much of the region by daybreak tomorrow. Some locales, especially north of US84 along inland stretches of southwest Alabama, may briefly dip into the 63-64° range. QUITE pleasant for this time of year!

TROPICAL UPDATE: ERNESTO HEADED OUT; QUIET GULF FOR NOW… Hurricane Ernesto is in the process of becoming extratropical across the northern Atlantic Ocean. Ernesto is moving northeast at 25-30 mph, racing into the open waters of the cooler North Atlantic. Elsewhere in the tropics, things are quiet for now. The Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea are not expected to support tropical storm formation over the next several days.

SCATTERED STORMS RETURN LATER THIS WEEK INTO WEEKEND… Scattered showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast across the local area as we get into Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Not every community is expected to have rain, but some inevitably will as “splash and dash” showers and thunderstorms return, mostly in the P.M. hours each day. High temperatures will be in the low- to mid-90s later this week with morning lows in the 70s.
