Small showers and thunderstorms are developing this afternoon in parts of west Alabama. I expect more storms to pop up across the region over the next several hours. Most communities, however, will remain dry.

#Ernesto is now a hurricane. Maximum winds have increased to 75 mph as the storm moves north, away from Puerto Rico.

LOW RAIN CHANCES OVER NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS… Hot, mostly dry pattern is set to continue into the weekend and early next week. Rain chances will be a bit higher on Saturday and Sunday.
